“We used Glacial Art to create an ice sculpture of our cat for our wedding a couple of weeks ago, and it was amazing. All the guests loved it – particularly the luge to pour drinks down, and it was definitely one of the highlights of the day! It looked just like our cat, and lasted really well and I’m so glad it could be part of our wedding day. The team was excellent at communicating all the way through the planning process, and we would highly recommend using them to add something special to any event.” – Caroline Martin, Google
FAQs
How big can ice sculptures be?
Ice sculptures can be up to 300kg in weight. We have many years of experience in making full ice bars (one of our regular wedding venues is the beautiful Peckforton Castle, which is perfectly sized for a fully-working ice bar). We’ve also been commissioned to make a life-size replica of a ‘Waltzer Booth’ the bride’s father had once built for his Fun Fair.
Can you make an ice sculpture based on any design?
Feel free to come up with some truly unique, beautiful and personal ideas for your party ice sculpture – no need to choose from our existing portfolio. If you think you might like an ice sculpture, luge or bar at your event but aren’t sure of what design, we can talk you through what would work best with your theme and help it to fit perfectly in your venue.
Can you turn my party ice sculpture into a vodka luge?
Party ice sculptures can be transformed into vodka luges, with a little work. Ice luges are hugely popular at parties and are a fun way to serve drinks to your guests, but most importantly can be made to virtually any design you can imagine. We have created a skull luge, a fire engine luge, and even a camel luge for a couple from Dubai who wanted a bit of ‘home’ with them.
What can ice sculptures bring to a party?
Ice sculptures can give many different effects to a party – they can be understated and classy, bold and fun or even functional, but no matter what purpose they serve, they are guaranteed to be striking and beautiful.
Have you got experience creating ice sculptures for parties?
We have sculpted hundreds of ice sculptures for parties over the years – since starting up in 2006 we have made and delivered, on average, two ice displays or sculptures every single week!
Can I get an ice sculpture delivered anywhere in the UK?
No venue is too far for us – we’ve transported ice bars and table plans to the Republic of Ireland and ice sculptures for weddings in Aberdeen, on top of the already prolific amount of other ice sculpting work that we carry out throughout the world. Give us an hour and a half to set up your piece and a little time to de-construct it at the end of the night, then forget about us and just enjoy the ice experience.
Can you make my ice sculpture colourful?
Incorporating colour into ice sculptures is a simple way to match it beautifully with your theme. This can be achieved in two ways; either by using LED lighting or by incorporating physical objects such as jewellery, flowers or name plaques into the sculpture itself. They can also be used as centrepieces on the tables or dramatic pedestals for food.
How long do ice sculptures last?
Ice sculptures can last over 12 hours depending on the size of the piece, the design and where it is kept. Naturally, you can expect an ice sculpture to last less time sitting outside on a hot summer’s day, as opposed to in an air-conditioned room.
How long does it take to make an ice sculpture?
It can take between 3 and 12 hours to make an ice sculpture depending on the size and design of the piece. In many cases, ice sculptures can be made weeks or months in advance and then stored in deep-freeze before being delivered in a refrigerated van to the venue.
Are ice sculptures sanitary?
Ice sculptures are completely sanitary, each ice sculpture is constructed of sterile water and is delivered in a clean van. If you are planning on ordering an ice luge for your event, drinkers can choose to simply pour the alcohol into shot glasses using the luge or can drink straight from the end of the luge. In the latter case, it is important to sanitise the luge after each drinker.
